As always, our first event to kickoff the new year will be the NATIA Southwest Chapter Technology Exhibition Conference in San Antonio, TX on 21-23 January 2015. This year's venue is the Omni San Antonio Hotel, where a special rate is available to the invited attendees. Salient Sciences will also be conducting a special training session, entitled Integrated Audio and Video Processing with VideoFOCUS and CARDINAL MiniLab. Invited members are welcome to attend this training, but must sign up with the conference organizers in advance. We look forward to seeing you there!

VideoFOCUS 4.6 Released

VideoFOCUS Version 4.6 is now in general release, and incorporates a number of performance and usability improvements, including: FFmpeg module updated to version 2.4, faster import for indexed file formats, improved file export functionality, and new Polish language support (in addition to English, German, and Spanish). Additionally, the Demultiplex function is now unlocked in VFSource, enabling a complete capability to ingest analog video material to digital evidence. All VideoFOCUS users who were current on maintenance as of 1 November 2014, or who purchased the software thereafter, will be entitled to this update. DAC School Audio Training

Don't miss your chance to attend the upcoming DAC School Forensic Audio Training Session on 23-27 February 2015 at the Courtyard Myrtle Beach Broadway, 21st Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Based on CARDINAL MiniLab and VideoFOCUS, this five-day intensive training course provides practical instruction on forensic voice clarification and noise reduction processing for both audio-only and audio-with-video recordings. On the final day of the class, a practical test is given to each student with a certificate provided. Attendance for this class is restricted to law enforcement and governmental personnel ONLY. Tuition price is USD$900.00 (does not include transportation, lodging, or meals).
